5. Cookies and Tracking
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) for the following purposes:
Essential
Keep you logged in, protect forms against forgery (CSRF) and keep the platform secure. These cannot be switched off.
Preferences
Remember your settings, such as light or dark theme, and provide personalized content.
Analytics
Understand how the site is used and measure its performance, such as reading progress.
Advertising (Free users and visitors only)
Set by Google AdSense to show and measure ads. Paid members do not see ads, and we do not load Google's advertising code for them.
Advertising with Google AdSense
- MLHub is free to read because it is supported by ads. We show ads through Google AdSense to visitors who are not logged in and to members on the Free plan. Basic, Premium and higher members get an ad-free experience.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to MLHub and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.

Site analytics (only with your consent)
- If you choose Accept analytics in the cookie banner, we set a first-party visitor cookie and record the pages you visit on MLHub, when you visited them, how long you actively spent on each page and how far you scrolled, the referring page, your device type, operating system and browser, and your IP address. If you are signed in, this is linked to your account.
- From your IP address we derive an approximate location (country, region and city). This is looked up in a database stored on our own servers; your IP address is not sent to a third-party location service. We never determine a street address.
- We use this to understand which content is useful, improve navigation and recommendations, and suggest articles and features you may like. We do not sell it and do not share it with advertisers.
- If you choose Decline analytics (or make no choice), none of this is stored for you: we only increase an anonymous daily page-view counter that contains no identifier, IP address or device information. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings (also in the footer); withdrawing consent deletes the visitor cookie on your next page view.
- Retention: page-visit history and sessions are deleted automatically after 365 days, and cached IP location lookups after 30 days. Signed-in users can ask us to delete this data sooner (see Your Rights).
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop features such as logging in from working, and blocking advertising cookies means the ads you see will be less relevant, not that you will see fewer ads. Upgrading to a paid membership removes ads entirely.

8. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
